China-Korea science and technology exchange reaches new stage

In the afternoon of October 14, Mr. Park Ki-sik, President of Busan Economic Development Institute, and his delegation met with the East National Technology Transfer Center (hereinafter referred to as "ETC") at the South Hongqiao Exhibition Center. Invited to attend this meeting. The two sides held specific discussions on the details of possible future cooperation.

At the meeting, Zou Shujun first introduced the four levels of international cooperation of the East Center, including: 1) the establishment of the China-Korea Innovation Center in Minhang District; 2) the achievement of substantial progress in technological innovation research and development and project demand resolution through the Challenge; 3) the provision of special policy support for company registration, innovation and entrepreneurship, space, training, joint research and development, and other support technologies for cooperation between enterprises of the two countries by taking advantage of the platform. Cooperation and mutual exchanges; 4) Increase investment and set up investment funds. Zou Shujun pointed out that internationalization is a feature of Shanghai's technological innovation and technology transfer, and we not only hope to establish cooperation between countries and Shanghai, but also to form a global network, and scientific and technological exchanges between countries can be carried out through our platform.

After that, Mr. Park Ki-sik, President of Busan Economic Promotion Institute, pointed out that the current international cooperation in Busan is mainly based on the traditional exchange of products such as participation in exhibitions and organization of trade fairs. It does not have much experience in technology exchange and hopes to promote technology exchange between Chinese and Korean enterprises through cooperation between the two sides. As for the signing of the strategic framework agreement between the two sides, Park Ki-sik hoped that it would include technology exchange between China and South Korea, operation of startup space, institutional support for companies from both countries, and cooperation through events.

Zou Shujun agreed with the framework content of the strategic agreement proposed by Park Ki-sik, saying that the details of the implementation could be further communicated in the future implementation process. Park Ki-Sik plans to come to Shanghai again next month and hopes to sign a strategic agreement on cooperation between Shanghai and Busan in the field of science and technology innovation at the next meeting. Director Zheng of the Minhang District Science and Technology Committee also welcomed Korean companies to locate in Minhang in the future, and introduced to the Korean side the current policies and opinions of Minhang District on promoting science and technology innovation and entrepreneurship and fruit transformation, providing various policies and financial support for Korean companies to locate in Minhang.

After the meeting, Park and his delegation also visited the Shanghai Blockchain Technology Association in Bay Valley Technology Park. Currently, China's blockchain industry is developing at a high speed and its international influence is increasing. During the visit, the Korean side pointed out that blockchain is also a competitive industry in Busan, and hoped to export Chinese agricultural blockchain technology to South Korea to promote cooperation between China and South Korea in the blockchain industry.

Since Shanghai and Busan became sister cities in 1993, Shanghai and Busan have carried out many exchanges and cooperation in the fields of economy, science and technology, culture and other fields. This year, the Mayor of Shanghai and the Mayor of Busan met again to deepen the cooperation and interaction between the two cities. At the end of September, Mr. Yan Mingfeng, CEO of the East Center, and Mr. Chen Chao, head of the preparatory team of the Shanghai International Technology Exchange, visited Pusan Economic Development Institute in Korea. The visit to Busan Economic Promotion Institute to discuss the details of the cooperation between the two sides will further promote the cooperation between the East Center and Korea in the field of science and technology, and establish a good partnership.
