China Innovation Challenge (Shanghai)】Yangpu District Competition-Industrial Innovation Competition Officially Launched!

On the afternoon of August 9, the launch ceremony of the 4th China Innovation Challenge and the 2nd Yangtze River Delta International Innovation Challenge - Industrial Innovation Competition was held at InnoSpace. Liang Bing, Deputy Director of Innovation Service Department of Shanghai Science and Technology Commission, Ma Qing, Deputy Director of Yangpu District Science and Technology Commission, and Huang Yanzhe, Director of Technology Mall Operation Department of Eastern National Technology Transfer Center, attended the event.

The China Innovation Challenge is an innovation crowdsourcing service activity directed by the Ministry of Science and Technology and co-organized by the Torch Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology and provincial and municipal science and technology authorities to promote mass entrepreneurship and innovation, with the goal of solving the needs of enterprises, and openly collecting solutions for the society through the way of "competition".

At the launch ceremony, Ma Qing, deputy director of Shanghai Yangpu District Science and Technology Commission, gave a presentation on "Why large enterprises choose entrepreneurial teams to address their needs" and "Why Yangpu District chooses InnoSpace as the organizer of the Yangpu Sub-event"." The three questions "What is the original purpose of holding the China Innovation Challenge?" were discussed and the significance of the Innovation Challenge was profoundly explained. Mr. Ma expressed his hope that a favorable channel for technology transfer and transformation could be established to identify innovative enterprises with capabilities to enhance the innovation capacity of the Yangtze River Delta region.

Liang Bing, Deputy Director of Innovation Service Division of Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission, pointed out the difficulty and importance of holding the Innovation Challenge, and said that the Challenge would be promoted and jointly promoted in all 12 districts of Shanghai. It is hoped that a platform will be built with the help of all parties, so that more large enterprises, start-up teams, universities and technology transfer service agencies can find their respective roles to achieve the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta.

At the scene, Huang Yanzhe, Director of the Technology Mall Operations Department of the National Technology Transfer Eastern Center, reviewed the development history of the event, introduced the main highlights of the event, put forward the requirements of the Challenge Special Sessions, and introduced in detail the participation process and operation of the Challenge. The Innovation Challenge focuses on Shanghai, connecting the Yangtze River Delta and radiating globally, and is committed to helping enterprises find solutions on a global scale.

As a startup eco-community focused on early-stage project investment and incubation and innovation for large enterprises, InnoSpace is honored to be the organizer of the Yangpu Industrial Innovation Competition. In the past few years, InnoSpace has incubated nearly 500 startups, and is also recognized as a "National Registered Creative Space" by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China. During the ceremony, Mr. Chengqiang Chen introduced the characteristics and process of the Yangpu District Competition based on the development history of InnoSpace, and showed the more than 20 companies that had already announced their needs on the spot.

Afterwards, in the presence of leaders, guests and enterprises, Liang Bing, Deputy Director of Innovation Service Division of Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission, Ma Qing, Deputy Director of Yangpu District Science and Technology Commission, Chen Lidan, General Manager of KIC, and Chen Chengqiang, General Manager of InnoSpace, jointly opened the 4th China Innovation Challenge (Shanghai) and the 2nd Yangtze River Delta International Innovation Challenge Yangpu Industry Innovation Competition. It aims to build an open platform for proposing and solving needs, promote open innovation, cooperation among industry, universities and research institutes, develop professional science and technology service industry, and promote regional innovation capacity and industrial transformation and upgrading.

After the launch ceremony, Ms. Lidan Chen, General Manager of KIC, Ms. Guoguang Liu, Product Development Manager of Henkel Innovation, and Dr. Sheng-Lai Lai from BMW Beginner Program made a demand announcement. KIC represents innovation and entrepreneurship, and is driven by innovation and entrepreneurship to gather domestic and international wisdom resources, build a think tank for scientific urban development, and bring an all-round Lohas experience to create a comprehensive knowledge community, KIC released the requirements for intelligent parking services, navigation and pedestrian flow monitoring.

Ms. Liu Guoguang, Innovation Product Development Manager at Henkel, presented the product innovation requirements for the Adhesive and Cleaning sections in relation to the relevant businesses. Dr. Sheng Lai of BMW Starter Program introduced the project concept of BMW Starter Garage and the significance of product and service innovation for BMW's digital transformation strategy to the guests on the spot. Dr. Lai also emphasized that BMW's need for service and product innovation is not just theoretical, and that the company expects the solutions to be advanced and unique at the same time.

After the announcement of the three large enterprises, Mr. Xing Liang Libo of XYZ Robotics, a startup that has participated in several innovation competitions and successfully connected with large enterprises, shared his experience of working with large enterprises as a team. The reason why they are able to solve problems for large corporations is because of two things. The first is that the team has excellent professional ability to solve practical problems for the enterprise; the second is that they can make adjustments according to the customer's needs and can satisfy the customer's needs to the maximum extent.

At the end of the event, Ms. Pan Jing from the Shanghai Technology Market Management Office explained the policies and procedures of technology contract registration, VAT exemption policies and procedures, and technology transaction reward system to the guests.

The China Innovation Challenge is a government-built demand-alignment platform between large enterprises and startups, providing both a solution to technological innovation problems for large enterprises and a stage for startups to showcase their capabilities. Our demand matching platform for large enterprises will not be limited to Shanghai or the Yangtze River Delta region. The government will also continue its efforts to provide more overseas resources to enterprises and teams and to establish more internationally connected innovation and entrepreneurship matchmaking platforms. It will connect the government, large enterprises, start-up teams, universities and innovation service providers in the form of a challenge competition to create an innovation ecosystem and promote the development of science and technology innovation in the Yangtze River Delta region.
