With the hot launch of the 4th China Innovation Challenge (Shanghai), the demand collection and matchmaking activities are also in full swing. In response to the recently collected innovative needs in the field of new materials, Shanghai Yangpu District Science and Technology Commission, National Technology Transfer East Center and Shanghai Small and Medium Enterprise Development Service Center jointly hosted the Fudan University Science and Technology Achievement Exchange and Matchmaking Meeting in the field of new materials on June 19. The meeting was organized by the Institute of Science and Technology of Fudan University, Shanghai National University Technology Market, Ningbo Research Institute of Fudan University, and co-organized by Fuling Technology (Shanghai) Co.

The technical innovation needs of this exchange and docking meeting involve new materials in medicine, energy, electronic information, cosmetic and beauty and other industries and fields. After screening, a total of 8 university project technology teams and more than 10 enterprise representatives participated in this roadshow.

Before the start of the roadshow, Mr. Hang Tianyu of the National Technology Transfer Center East introduced the China Innovation Challenge and the innovation voucher policy to the leaders, teachers and entrepreneurs present at the event. He said that the China Innovation Challenge is a demand-driven bidding process to explore the technological needs of enterprises and find technological solutions. Based on last year's competition, this year's China Innovation Challenge will be upgraded to focus on three main directions: large enterprises, industries and overseas, to provide more targeted services for enterprises. In addition, Ms. Lynn Yan from the SME Development Service Center introduced the Shanghai Enterprise Service Cloud to the project teams and provided answers to questions about policy services and socialized professional services.

At the docking meeting, Professor Wang Yonggang from Fudan Department of Chemistry brought a membrane free stepwise water electrolysis for hydrogen production project which attracted wide attention from new battery enterprises. This project discards the ion exchange membrane used in traditional electrolysis industry and realizes ion-electron caching by reversible charging process of battery electrode, thus realizing the membrane electrolysis technology based on battery electrode, and the four patents applied for have been granted. The injectable calorific hydrogel project brought by Mr. Ding Jiandong from the Department of Polymer Science also caused discussion among pharmaceutical companies. The atmosphere of the meeting slowly climaxed with the display of many achievements, and the meeting came to a successful end in the heated discussions among the guests and entrepreneurs.

The successful holding of the Matchmaking Meeting has built a good platform for exchange and cooperation between enterprises and teams from universities and institutes. In the next step, the Eastern National Technology Transfer Center will face more enterprises and parks, tap more effective demands, carry out rich docking activities, effectively realize the match between enterprises' innovation needs and universities' and institutes' scientific and technological achievements, and carry out the concept of the Innovation Challenge throughout the year to create a never ending challenge!
