The China Innovation Challenge is an innovation crowdsourcing service activity that openly collects solutions for specific technological innovation needs through a "Top Ranking Competition", which has received wide attention since its launch in 2015.

In 2019, the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission will continue to take the lead in organizing the 4th China Innovation Challenge (Shanghai) and the 2nd Yangtze River Delta International Innovation Challenge. In order to better serve enterprises, stimulate their innovation capacity and promote the transfer of results, this year's challenge will carry out three special competitions: the Large Enterprise Innovation Competition, the Yangtze River Delta Industry Competition and the International Innovation Competition. On June 6, 2019, a mobilization meeting for the 2019 Innovation Challenge Special Session was held to better promote the special session, led by the Municipal Science Committee and organized by the National Center for Technology Transfer East.

At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Lu Jijun, President Assistant of the National Technology Transfer Eastern Center, introduced the results of last year's China Innovation Challenge (Shanghai) and the overall plan for this year's event. Compared to last year, this year's Challenge has involved 14 districts and counties in Shanghai, with Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Anhui provinces cooperating in its development. In addition, this year's competition also launched a platform for information collection and online reporting, such as the WeChat mini-program, to facilitate enterprises and service providers to learn about the dynamics of the competition and demand matching in real time.

Afterwards, Shen Kang, Innovation Service Department of the Municipal Science and Technology Commission, shared the excellent cases of previous challenges: the Wesocool Incubator of Wusongkou Enterprise Park and Cloud Space focused on 3D defect detection systems and artificial intelligence image recognition, and jointly built a platform for communication and cooperation between large enterprises and innovative and entrepreneurial enterprises in the form of offline docking sessions for special competitions. Promote China Baowu and Shanghai Yidian's innovation needs and entrepreneurial enterprises to carry out more in-depth docking, and continue to follow up on the project docking situation, and fully support the integration and development of large enterprises and small and medium-sized enterprises.
