Innovation Challenge Demand Matching Series (Session 2) VOC Sessions

On the afternoon of September 3, Minhang District VOC emitting enterprises held an innovation challenge event in Xin Minh Ruyuan Park.

The event is directed by Minhang Science and Technology Innovation Service Center and National Technology Transfer East Center, organized by Yumo Consulting, and co-organized by Shanghai Min Minh City Innovation Park and Shanghai Environmental Industry Association. It aims to promote the construction of Shanghai Minhang National Science and Technology Achievement Transfer Demonstration Zone, carry out the 3rd China Challenge (Shanghai) and the 1st Yangtze River Delta International Innovation Challenge, fully dovetail the innovation trends, trends and achievements in the field of clean technology at home and abroad, actively play a leading role in the demonstration zone, and serve the construction of Shanghai science and technology achievement transfer system.

In order to help enterprises in Minhang to diagnose and solve environmental compliance problems, improve clean production and energy efficiency, reduce long-term business risks and improve their competitiveness, 45 enterprises from both the supply and demand sides were invited to the event. 52 participants attended the event, including a number of end-user enterprises from Minhang and high-quality VOC treatment companies from home and abroad. The National Technology Transfer Eastern Center explained in detail about the 3rd China Innovation Challenge in the meeting. The China Innovation Challenge is an innovation crowdsourcing service activity directed by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) and co-hosted by the Torch Center of MOST and provincial and municipal science and technology authorities, which aims to solve the needs of enterprises and openly collect solutions for the society. At present, the demand release and solution solicitation of the Innovation Challenge is still in progress, and enterprises who are interested can focus on it.

From the perspective of the Shanghai Research Institute of Environmental Sciences, Ms. Dai Xian, from the Shanghai Municipal Environmental Science Institute, spoke about the national enforcement process and the corresponding supporting measures, clarifying the regulatory requirements and legal basis for the production and storage of VOCs in the hazardous waste process.

Mr. Sheng Tao, an engineer from Shanghai Monitoring Center, shared his insights on VOC monitoring policy trends and common problems. Mr. Sheng Tao discussed the current status of pollution, VOC standards and requirements, ways to meet the requirements, and outlook and recommendations on VOC pollution prevention and control related standards, regulations and policy requirements. He highlighted the VOC-related policies and regulations at the national level and at the local level in Shanghai in recent years. He suggested that waste discharging enterprises should strengthen fine management, enhance monitoring and implement LDAR to reduce leakage and emissions.

Engineering enterprises.Low-price competition and market disorder undermine the order of legitimate competition in the market; the high cost of estimating the value of customer demand prevents engineering firms from efficiently selecting suitable service providers; and the vague standards of engineering quality make it difficult for quality firms to self-certify and use this to obtain a better customer base.

Emphasizing the design principles of high efficiency, low energy consumption, automation and safety, Mr. Lai shared the VOC management strategies adopted by Yunhui for the spice industry.
