China-UK Science and Technology Investment Dialogue Explores "Fast Lane" for China-EU Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation

On the afternoon of 26 October 2017, the Shanghai Technology Advocacy Group, in partnership with the BritishConsulate-General Shanghai, the Department for International Trade (DIT), the London & The event was organized by the China-Britain Business Council (CBBC), CocoonNetworks, GCL Financial Holdings and other global partners. Tony Clemson, Deputy Consul General of the British Consulate General in Shanghai, said in his speech that the innovation exchange between China and the UK will promote the sustainable development of the technology ecosystem of the two countries. Hou Jin, Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee of Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone, said that Zhangjiang, as the industrial innovation integration center of Shanghai and even the whole country, hopes that in the future, Sino-British cooperation can take the opportunity of the establishment of TSA to be grafted onto the Zhangjiang platform, share resources and open up more opportunities for cooperation between the two countries. Mr. Xie Jihua, President of the National Technology Transfer East Centre and General Manager of Shanghai Yangpu Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Centre, mentioned in his speech that London is the most developed city in the world in terms of financial capital investment, while Shanghai is the most rapidly developing city in China, so it is inevitable for the two cities to explore the path of collaboration and innovation.

Tech Shanghai Advocates Launch Event

The establishment of the Tech Shanghai Advocates Group not only means that GTA, a unique and advanced international technology network that brings together tens of thousands of technology practitioners, investors, government agencies and industry experts from more than 50 countries around the world to connect technology-related industry advocates in different regions of the world, has extended its platform to Shanghai. The UK partner of the National Technology Transfer East Centre, Cocoon Networks, is a comprehensive international investment and financial services platform linking Chinese and British enterprises to promote the expansion of channels, technology and capital between China and the UK, and to establish a "fast lane" for bilateral innovation cooperation between China and the UK.
