The Shanghai E-waste Resource Technology Industry-Academia-Research Center is the second batch of knowledge service platform projects of Shanghai universities undertaken by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and constructed by Shanghai Second Institute of Technology. The center aims to carry out research and development of relevant policies and standards, manufacturing R&D of technology and equipment, cultivation of undergraduate and professional master's talents, industrial research and consulting services, domestic and international cooperation and exchange on e-waste legislation and management and resource-based treatment. The center includes the following five R&D platforms: Institute of Policy and Regulation, Institute of Life Cycle Management, Institute of Resource Technology, Institute of Technology and Equipment, and Institute of Green Design and Remanufacturing.

 

➤Personal Profile: Jingwei Wang, professor, master's supervisor, leader of key disciplines in Shanghai, model teacher in Shanghai, former dean of the School of Urban Construction and Environmental Engineering, director of the Research Department, and director of the Graduate School, is currently executive director of the Shanghai Collaborative Innovation Center for e-waste resourceization.
➤ Research interests: e-waste management and resource mobilization.
➤ Major Achievements: He has undertaken a series of important projects such as the National 863 Program, the "Seventh Five-Year Plan" key projects, key disciplines in Shanghai, and major science and technology projects in Guangdong Province; he has published more than 50 articles, applied for more than 20 invention patents, authorized 10 invention patents, and 3 utility model patents; he has won the third prize of science and technology in Guangdong Province. ➤Personal profile: Bai Jianfeng, male, PhD, associate professor, joined the School of Urban Construction and Environmental Engineering at Shanghai Second Institute of Technology in July 2007.
➤ Research interests: research work on biogeochemical cycles of heavy metals and organic pollutants, including research and technology development on e-waste recycling, environmentally friendly biotechnology, contaminated soil and ecological remediation.
➤ Major Achievements: She presided over the National Natural Science Youth Fund, the General and Key Innovation Project of Shanghai Education Commission, the Open Fund of the State Key Laboratory of Soil and Agricultural Sustainable Development, one sub-project each of major science and technology projects in Guangdong Province, and three projects commissioned by enterprises; participated as a backbone in the National 863 Project, the Guangdong Strategic Emerging Industries Project, and the Special Development Fund Project of Shanghai Zhangjiang Development Zone. R&D. Research progress: More than 40 papers have been published in the past 5 years, with 5 and 4 SCI and EI indexed respectively; 10 invention patents have been applied for, of which 5 invention patents and 2 utility model patents have been authorized. The research on microbial recycling of some types of wastes containing heavy metals has been industrialized, and the related equipment has been exhibited in the International Industry Fair. The results of the project have been appraised by experts organized by Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Department and China Environmental Protection Industry Association (the appraisal results are leading in China), and won the third prize of Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology (2012, ranked 3rd).

 

➤ Personal Profile: Chenglong Zhang, PhD, is an associate professor at Shanghai Second Institute of Technology.
➤ Research interests: solid waste treatment and resource mobilization, cleaner production, environmental impact assessment.
➤ Major Achievements: He has published more than 30 papers, edited and co-edited 3 books, and applied for 8 patents. He has presided over and participated in five scientific research projects, including the National Natural Foundation of China, the National 863 Program, the Scientific Research and Innovation Project of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, and the Major Science and Technology Special Project of Guangdong Province, and has won one second prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Invention and one third prize of Guangdong Science and Technology Award.

 

➤ Personal profile: Wenyi Yuan, Ph.D., Associate Researcher, Shuo-director. 2013 September, Shanghai Second Institute of Technology, Shanghai, China, is engaged in teaching and research at the E-waste Research Center, and also serves as Deputy Director of the Institute of Resource Technology.
➤ Research direction: research on solid waste resources and hazardous waste treatment and disposal technologies.
Major Achievements: She is currently leading the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Youth Fund, the Shanghai Natural Science Foundation, the Shanghai Alliance Program, the Basel Convention Asia-Pacific Regional Center Development Fund, the Start-up Fund of Shanghai Second Polytechnic University, and the Science and Technology Development Fund of Shanghai Second Polytechnic University, and has participated in the National Eleventh Five-Year Plan, the National 863 Program, the Public Welfare Project of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the National Science Foundation of China. He has published more than 20 SCI papers in journals such as Environmental Science & Technology, Powder Technology, etc. He has applied for more than 10 patents. ➤ Personal profile: Xiaolong Song, PhD, associate researcher and master supervisor, joined the E-waste Research Center of Shanghai Second Institute of Technology in 2013 to teach and conduct research, and also serves as associate director of the Institute of Life Cycle Management.
➤ Research interests: industrial ecology and environmental management, with a focus on product life cycle assessment, carbon footprint analysis, waste life cycle management methods and tools.
➤ Major Achievements: He is currently presiding over the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Youth Science Fund Project, the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission's Research and Innovation Project, and the Shanghai University Young Teachers Training Grant Program, etc. He has participated in the National 973 Project, the National Environmental Public Welfare Industry Research Project, the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Key Project and the Shanghai Zhangjiang National Innovation Demonstration Zone Special Development Fund Key Project.
