Pujiang Innovation Forum Enters North America for the First Time National Technology Transfer Eastern Center in Toronto, Canada Unveiled

The 2017 Pujiang Innovation Forum-Canada was held at the Toronto Convention Centre on May 16, local time in Toronto, with the signing and opening of the National Technology Transfer Eastern Center Canada (Toronto). The forum was hosted by the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission, and the Department of Research, Innovation and Technology of Ontario, Canada, and was attended by more than 150 representatives from government departments, universities and research institutes, the clean technology industry, the financial and investment community, high-tech parks and incubators, technology intermediaries, and the media in China and Canada. The theme of the forum was "Building a Cleantech Transfer Eco-Chain", which aimed to promote the transfer of clean technology between China and Canada and help Shanghai build a globally influential science and technology innovation center.

The Pujiang Innovation Forum, co-organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Shanghai Municipal Government, has been successfully held for nine years. This year, the tenth Pujiang Innovation Forum will be held in Shanghai on September 23-24. In order to further enhance the international influence of the forum, this year's Pujiang Innovation Forum will be held in Toronto for the first time in North America. In recent years, Canada has world-leading technologies and industries in clean technology, energy conservation and environmental protection, new materials and other fields.

During the same period, two side events were held - the China-Canada Advanced Cleantech Enterprise Exchange and Matchmaking Meeting and the Bilateral Academic Seminar on Energy Storage Technology.

The inauguration of the National Technology Transfer Eastern Center (NTMEC) Canada (Toronto) will become an important platform for building the technology transfer ecosystem chain between the two countries. According to the agreement, NTME and CIPC will jointly apply for policy and financial support from both countries for overseas technology transfer, park construction, etc., which will be used to introduce advanced technology and innovative projects to Shanghai, assist Chinese high-tech enterprises to explore the Canadian market, and provide a "soft landing" for science and technology projects of both countries. "We provide a range of services such as preliminary research, investment financing, and project incubation.
