Today is the first day of the China (Shanghai) International Fair for Import and Export of Technology (CIFT). Xie Jihua, President of the National Technology Transfer Eastern Center (NTETC), exchanged views with attendees on the construction of the Shanghai Zhangjiang Boston Enterprise Park and made a presentation titled "Connecting to the Global Innovation System, Realizing Cross-border Cooperation of Science and Technology Innovation Factors, and Creating a New Model of Sino-US Innovation Cooperation". " a fascinating presentation that shared with attendees his latest thoughts on the innovative U.S.-China cooperation model.

Shanghai Zhangjiang Boston Enterprise Park (BEP) was established under the joint promotion of Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone (ZHTID) Management Committee and the U.S.-China Cooperation and Development Commission (USCCDC).

Mr. Xie pointed out that in the process of developing global science and innovation centers, the innovation model has gradually shifted from single region independent innovation to cross-regional collaborative innovation. By leveraging the respective advantages of different regions for dislocation and development, the allocation of innovation resources in a larger scope has been co-ordinated to achieve bilateral innovation capacity enhancement. As a core carrier and demonstration area for Shanghai to build a science and technology innovation center with global influence, the Zhangjiang Demonstration Zone is a strategic plateau for the concentration of resources in science and technology innovation and emerging industries, and an important subject representing China in international competition. It is a strategic location for scientific and technological innovation and new industry resources, as well as an important subject representing China's participation in international competition. Boston has an excellent geographical location and environmental resources, and is guaranteed by both government policies and innovation resources. The inter-regional cooperation project Zhangjiang Boston Park is an overseas base established in pursuit of a new innovation model to bring about synergy, which plays a positive role in breaking through the barriers of Sino-US science and technology innovation exchanges and building a science and technology innovation cooperation mechanism between the two countries.

Mr. Xie introduced that in order to maximize the advantages of regional cooperation, Shanghai Zhangjiang Boston Enterprise Park has been designed in a unique way. Firstly, the park integrates the resources of UPC (U.S.-China Cooperation and Development Commission), NEBHE (New England Board of Higher Education), and AAI (American Enterprise Alliance), which can provide strong support for industry-university-research in all stages; secondly, the park has seven platforms in functional design, covering talent training, cutting-edge innovation, fruit transformation and capital market. Thirdly, six innovation centers have been established in key areas such as artificial intelligence, biomedicine and semiconductors, which are close to the forefront of enterprise innovation. Mr. Xie emphasized that Zhangjiang Boston Park will build a number of innovative enterprises with radiating capacity and a functional platform to serve science and technology innovation, providing an overseas base for China's science and technology innovation and emerging industries to "go out" and "come in", and constantly exploring science and technology innovation. A new model of collaboration to better feed domestic technology innovation in the future.

Innovation requires integration. Finally, Mr. Xie said, as the only Sino-American science and technology innovation park, BBE Park will be positioned as a base for comprehensive pooling and high sharing of Chinese and American innovation resources, and will realize cross-border cooperation of science and technology innovation elements by building an effective vehicle for integrating and utilizing both international and domestic markets and resources.
