On the afternoon of January 15, 2016, the Eastern Center for National Technology Transfer (hereinafter referred to as the Eastern Center) and Shanghai Sage Energy Technology (hereinafter referred to as Shanghai Sage) signed a memorandum of cooperation to jointly build an energy saving and emission reduction technology transfer and transformation platform, which will focus on energy saving and environmental protection, new materials, high-end equipment manufacturing, new energy and other fields in turn. As the world's second largest energy producer and consumer, China's overall energy efficiency is currently only 33%, about 10 percentage points lower than the international advanced level, there is huge room for improvement in total energy consumption and utilization efficiency, but also gave rise to a huge energy saving and emission reduction market space. According to Risun Securities estimates, the total output value of China's energy conservation and environmental protection industry at the end of 2015 was about 5.3 trillion.

Focusing on the huge demand of energy saving and emission reduction industry, East Center and Shanghai Sage jointly build an energy saving and emission reduction technology transfer platform to provide a display space and application stage for domestic advanced technologies and excellent products. The platform will leverage the international leading technological advantages of both parties in the field of comprehensive resource utilization and energy conservation and environmental protection, and play an important role in technology and product publicity and display, in-depth technical exchange and interaction, transformation and promotion of R&D achievements, efficient procurement and processing, service outsourcing, international project cooperation, investment attraction for demonstration projects, information feedback and services through centralized introduction of technologies and active cooperation. Shanghai Sage will cooperate with Shanghai Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Association and China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group to tap the energy conservation and environmental protection needs of the society, government and enterprises, fully integrate the many energy conservation and environmental protection service enterprises in Shanghai, and provide quality and sustainable energy conservation and environmental protection services to the demanders.
