(Reporter Zhang Peng) On October 28th, National Technology Transfer Eastern Center, Shanghai National University Technology Market, Shanghai Medical Device Industry Association and Shanghai Knowles Technology Co. University experts and enterprise representatives gathered together, focusing on the medical device industry, invited ten experts and scholars from the medical schools of Fudan University and Jiaotong University and their affiliated hospitals to promote the scientific and technological achievements in the field of medical devices. It aims to strengthen the exchange and dialogue between universities and enterprises, and promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements of universities into real productivity through the path of marketization and corporatization, in order to further promote the in-depth cooperation between universities and enterprises in the transformation of scientific and technological achievements and innovation and research and development.
It is understood that about 15% of the medical equipment currently owned by 175,000 medical institutions nationwide are pre-1970s products, produced by more than 14,000 manufacturers in what is essentially a low- to mid-range level of medical devices. High-end medical devices and equipment are basically dependent on imports, with the proportion of imports accounting for about 40%.
Authorities evaluate that the gap between the overall level of medical devices in China and the international advanced level is about 15 years, and this situation is not compatible with China's social progress and the development of the medical industry, with the urbanization of rural areas and the aging of the population makes us feel more urgency and necessity to strengthen the scientific and technological innovation of the medical device industry, and to vigorously strengthen the transformation and industrialization of the scientific and technological achievements of medical devices. In the face of the new innovation-driven situation, the implementation of industry-university-research collaborative innovation cooperation can enable universities and enterprises to exert each other's advantages and make up for the deficiencies, which plays a positive role in promoting the transformation of scientific and technological achievements of universities and the scientific and technological progress of the medical device industry.
The organizer introduced that the meeting mainly involved minimally invasive surgery, tumor testing reagents, bile duct stents, oxygen supply catheters and other aspects, and many of the scientific and technological achievements have obtained relevant patents and are in the stage of trial research and development. Ten medical device industry experts gave detailed introduction of their research results, and also interacted with enterprises, which enabled enterprises to better understand the scientific and technological achievements of universities, enhanced the interaction between schools and enterprises, and jointly discussed new technologies in the medical industry, new trends in industrial development, and new ways of industry-university-research docking.
