On July 26, local time, the Global Innovators Conference Toronto Forum, themed "Opportunities for New Technologies", was held at the Mars Innovation Centre in Toronto, one of Canada's largest clusters of science and technology innovation. The forum focused on life sciences, big data, artificial intelligence and other topics to exchange and discuss. More than one hundred delegates from Chinese and Canadian business and innovation sectors attended the forum.

GIC is one of the most cross-border and international innovation conferences in China. The GIC Toronto is co-hosted by China International Chamber of Commerce (CICC), APEC China Business Council (ACBC) and Y Star Community, and organized by National Technology Transfer Eastern Center (NTEC) Toronto, Shanghai Yangpu Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Center (YSTEC), China Canada Investment Promotion Centre (CCIPC), and PIEC Toronto.

Chinese Consul General He Wei, Vice Minister of Cooperation and Development of the China International Chamber of Commerce (CICC), Secretary General of the APEC China Business Council Sun Xiao, and Chinese Canadian Federal Senator Hu Xiu Xiu delivered speeches respectively, saying that China-Canada cooperation is not only a historical opportunity, but also a need of the times. In the construction of "One Belt, One Road", China can provide Canada with more opportunities for technology landing, and the two sides can work together to create a new point of growth for the world economy and inject new momentum into growth.

Xiao Ming, founder of the China-Canada Investment Promotion Centre (CIPC), believes that in seeking to land in China, Canadian technology projects need to be better integrated with Chinese market demand in order to better implant in the Eastern soil.

Hassan Jaferi, commercialization manager at the Mars Innovation Center, said he looks forward to more opportunities to collaborate with his Chinese counterparts in the big data space.

Zou Shujun, Executive Vice President of the National Technology Transfer East Center, said in his keynote speech on "Opportunities for Technology Transfer Internationalization" that technology transfer is characterized by the whole chain connection, the combination of all elements and the participation of the whole society, and that China and even Shanghai, the city with the highest degree of innovation integration, have already ushered in the opportunities for technology transfer internationalization, from the institutional system to the improvement of the functional platform for technology transfer, from technology transactions to the global network of technology finance. Factor market building, all of which are constantly practicing global synergy and innovation in technology transfer.

As the organizer of the GIC Toronto Forum, the Eastern National Technology Transfer Center (ETTC) and the China-Canada Investment Promotion Centre (CIPC) jointly established the Innovation Technology Transfer Center (ITTC), which aims to connect scientific research resources through various channels, collect science and technology projects to meet domestic demand; push project and policy information to attract domestic investors; and provide project investment landing services. Provide business, financial, management, partnership resources and policy support services to start-ups. Build a virtual contract research institution platform based on Canadian research institutions to provide outsourced research services between universities and institutions in both countries. To achieve the goal of innovation, cooperation and win-win by building a technology transfer service platform between China and Canada.

Since becoming the first and only council member of APEC in August last year, the National Technology Transfer Eastern Center and Yangpu Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Center have been actively working to accelerate the construction of a global platform for technology trade that is comparable to international science and innovation centers. The hosting of GIC Global Innovators Conference is another positive step taken by National Technology Transfer Eastern Center and Yangpu Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Center to deepen the integration of innovation and exchange and cooperation in the field of technology trade and to bridge the global circulation of technology transfer and transformation through APEC's multilateral international collaboration network.
