Zhangjiang Demonstration Zone, an International Technology Transfer and Transformation Cluster, Debuts at Doing Business with IP Asia Forum

The 7th edition of the "Doing Business with Intellectual Property Asia Forum", co-organized by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Hong Kong Trade Development Council (i.e. HKTDC) and Hong Kong Design Centre, was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on 7-8 December 2017. With the theme "Intellectual Property and Innovation: Driving Innovation, Growth and Connectivity", the Forum attracted more than 2,500 industry professionals and over 80 keynote speakers, as well as the opening ceremony attended by the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Carrie Lam, and the Deputy Director General of the State Intellectual Property Office, He Hua.

At the invitation of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), Zhangjiang Demonstration Zone International Technology Transfer and Transformation Cluster (hereinafter referred to as "the Cluster") became an important partner of the forum. This year's forum has three main presentation topics, which areExploring Intellectual Property Policy Development in the Innovation Era",Comprehensive IP strategy",Focus on the Transformation of Artificial Intelligence". Mr. Zou Shujun, Executive Vice President of the Eastern National Technology Transfer Center and head of the Cluster, was invited to deliver a keynote speech on "Opportunities and Challenges of Artificial Intelligence in Asia" at Forum III. He discussed the development history of AI technology and its application in China, the comparative application of AI technology in China and the United States, and the application of AI technology in Asian countries. The application of the technology in China and Asia is at a developmental stage and still has huge room for exploration, and points out that AI technology has become a key development area for China in the future from a national policy perspective.

At the forum, Zou Shujun signed a memorandum of strategic cooperation with the Hong Kong Trade Development Council on behalf of the agency. At the signing ceremony, he introduced the overall situation of the catchment area and looked forward to the prospect of cooperation between the two sides, which will be carried out in order to promote IP transactions between the Mainland and Hong Kong.
