On June 22, local time, the 2016 Pujiang Innovation Forum: the Sino-British Forum on Building a Technology Transfer Ecosystem was held at Gibson Hall in London. The forum was hosted by the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Department of International Knowledge and Innovation Asia-Pacific of the UK Department of Business, Innovation and Skills, the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission, the Science and Technology Department of Zhejiang Province, the London Development Promotion Agency, the Chinese Embassy in the UK, the UK Science and Innovation Alliance, the UK-China Trade Association, and co-organized by the Shanghai Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Centre, the National Technology Transfer East Centre, Science Control Global, the All UK Robotics Association, and Pin Play and Jiefang Daily.

Shanghai Innovation Center (London) and Shanghai Technology Exchange London Branch Center were unveiled at the forum, accompanied by Mr. Xie Jihua, President of National Technology Transfer East Center, who delivered a speech titled "Technology Service Provider Sharing: Case Sharing of Shanghai Innovation Center London Branch Center", in which he said that the construction of the two centers will be promoted in the future with the C&T London Incubator as the physical carrier. The 70,000-square-foot Centronics London Incubator, located in East London where the technology industry is booming, is Europe's first Chinese-funded technology start-up incubator and research conversion center. The establishment of Shanghai Innovation Centre (London) and Shanghai Technology Exchange (London) will enable the exchange of cutting-edge ideas, technology and capital through a combination of "going out" and "coming in", greatly enhancing the exchange of capital and excellent scientific research achievements between China and the UK. The docking and transformation is a solid step forward for Shanghai to accelerate the establishment of a science and technology innovation center with global influence.

As the host country of the 9th Pujiang Innovation Forum to be held in Shanghai in September, the UK is not only one of the most innovative countries in the world, its financial sector also has a high international status, and London is one of the world's top five innovation centres. This year, for the first time in the host country, Pujiang Innovation Forum organised a sub-forum during London Science and Technology Week. The forum focused on robotics and international technology transfer, the two sides shared their technology projects and technology demonstrations on capital matchmaking activities and international technology transfer in the field of artificial intelligence, and many famous enterprises and universities such as Huawei, Alibaba and Antai of Jiaoda shared their cooperation cases and experience exchange. The two sides described the initiatives of building an intellectual property eco-chain between China and the UK, and Mr Xie hoped to build a road for future cooperation and exchange of scientific and technological innovation between the two countries.

It is reported that the forum was attended by representatives from Chinese and British government departments, financial and investment sectors, universities and research institutes, intelligent manufacturing industries and other industries. Mr. Yin Gaode, President of London Development Agency, Mr. Jiang Sunan, Minister Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in the UK, Ms. Lin Xin, Executive Director of China Academy of Science and Technology for Development, and Mr. Frazer, Director of International Department, Department for Business Innovation and Skills, attended the forum and delivered speeches.
