Creating an Innovation Curator to Lead Regional Innovation Development - The 2019 Yangtze River Delta Regional Innovation Agency Development Study Report Successfully Launched

On the afternoon of December 17, 2019 Yangtze River Delta Regional Innovation Agency Development Seminar was successfully held in Shanghai Science Hall. The seminar focused on the implementation of the Outline of the Yangtze River Delta Regional Integration Development Plan, and exchanged ideas and discussions on the issues of collaborative development of innovation institutions in the Yangtze River Delta region, innovation curation and transformation of technology transfer results. At the meeting, the 2019 Research Report on the Development of Regional Innovation Agencies in the Yangtze River Delta (the Report), which was jointly conducted by the Shanghai Institute of Science and Technology Policy, the National Technology Transfer Eastern Center and Credo Vantage, was officially released.

Huang Lihong, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Center, Wang Jianping, President of Shanghai Science and Technology Management Cadre Institute, and Guo Li, General Manager of CredoVian's Academic Research Business in China, delivered speeches for the symposium. Yang Yaowu, Director of the Shanghai Institute of Science and Technology Policy, Yan Mingfeng, CEO of the National Technology Transfer Eastern Center, and Guo Li, General Manager of Academic Research at CredoViants China, jointly launched the report. Afterwards, Mr. Yang Yaowu, Director of the Shanghai Institute of Science and Technology Policy (SISP), read the Report and introduced the Report from multiple perspectives, including gradient, industry and region.

At the symposium, experts from the government, science and technology think tanks, enterprises, universities, research institutes and other parties exchanged views and discussed issues related to the collaborative development of innovation institutions in the Yangtze River Delta region, innovation strategy and the transformation of technology transfer results, and made suggestions and suggestions for further promoting the higher quality of innovation and collaborative development in the Yangtze River Delta region.

Xu Heping, former Director Researcher of the Research Office of the General Office of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China, gave a vivid keynote report on "Basic Issues of Innovation Deepening in Large Regions", from the historical process of science and technology development and reform, and the in-depth promotion of industrial innovation; immediately afterwards, Ning Pen, Business Director of the Academic Research Department of CredoVian, shared with the guests about the science and technology development and reform from the perspectives of countries, regional cities, innovation and other dimensions. The topic of metrics and their application in the evaluation of regional innovation capacity.

In addition to the keynote presentations, two groups of industry authorities and experts were invited to conduct interactive discussions on two different topics. The first panel was moderated by Sun Bin, Director of Jiangsu Provincial Institute of Science and Technology Development Strategy, and focused on the theme of collaborative development and innovation strategy of innovation institutions in the Yangtze River Delta. Chen Wenqiang, Director of Industrial Science and Technology Development Institute of Zhejiang Science and Technology Information Research Institute, Li Hongbing, Director of Strategic Research Center of Anhui Institute of Science and Technology Information, Sheng Huading, Director of Nanjing Institute of Science and Technology Information, and Yue Ren, Public Affairs Consultant of Leading UK China, shared their views on this topic.

The second group of guests were industry experts from universities and colleges, moderated by Lu Zhen, director of Science and Technology Development Center of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, Sun Zhengxin, former president of Shanghai Academy of Sciences, Gu Jianmin, assistant director of the 72nd Research Institute of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, Liu Qunyan, assistant director of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Meng Qi, deputy director of Science and Technology Division and deputy director of Technology Transfer Center of Shanghai Normal University, focusing on the transformation of technology transfer results in universities and colleges. It discusses how to better stimulate researchers' enthusiasm for research and development while contributing to the development of the national science and technology innovation field in the current environment in the process of transferring innovation results.

The 2019 Research Report on the Development of Regional Innovation Institutions in the Yangtze River Delta focuses on drawing a portrait of regional innovators and navigating for exemplary leaders. Through the combing of institutions of higher education and research in three provinces and one city in the Yangtze River Delta, and through an in-depth analysis of the patent situation, it aims to identify institutions with innovation strength, and is committed to depicting the coordinate system and barometer of the development of regional innovation institutions in the Yangtze River Delta, and constructing a roadmap and service network for the construction of a regional innovation community in the Yangtze River Delta. The Report is an exploration of the study of regional innovation institutions from the dimension of innovation patent output, and will be dedicated to better promote the transfer and transformation of scientific and technological achievements of institutions of higher learning and research in the Yangtze River Delta, better serve the industry to find scientific and technological achievements that meet their own development needs, and better promote the implementation of the strategic plan of regional innovation in the Yangtze River Delta, with continuous improvement and optimization.
