In recent years, China and Canada have been cooperating more and more closely in science and technology innovation. In order to have a more comprehensive understanding of the current China-Canada cooperation in science and technology innovation and the main problems and needs facing it, and to define the focus of China-Canada cooperation in science and technology innovation in the next period of time, on June 22, the "China-Canada Science and Technology Innovation Conference", led by the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the State Council and hosted by Shanghai Institute of Science and Technology Management and Cadre Institute, was held. The "Cooperation Workshop" was successfully held. As a front-runner in international technology transfer, the National Technology Transfer Eastern Center has established a Toronto branch in Canada in 2017, and Yan Mingfeng, CEO of the National Technology Transfer Eastern Center, was invited to attend and preside over the meeting.

In his speech, Mr. Yan shared his experience on the innovation strategy and innovation system between China and Canada, environmental protection materials, clean technology and diversified level of science and technology innovation cooperation, and further on the cooperation and practice of China-Canada innovation carriers. He also elaborated on the pain points of the cooperation between China and Canada one by one, and hoped to get more support from both governments in the future work.
