On June 15, 2017, the main forum day of London Tech Week - China-UK Tech Festival under "Industry 4.0 and Made in China 2015" on smart technology was held as scheduled at Cocoon Networks London Technology and Innovation Centre. As the only official event of London Tech Week, it was jointly organised by a number of Chinese and British organisations including Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone, China-EU Entrepreneur Summit, London Development Promotion Agency, London Technology Leadership Group, UK Department of International Trade Easy, Cocoon Networks, Aliliyun, etc. Open the door to connecting technology, entrepreneurship and investment in the UK and China.

At the festival, seven Sino-British cooperation events, seven thematic discussions, and over 40 excellent project presentations and exhibitions were announced, attracting nearly 600 guests, including Chinese and British entrepreneurs, investors, entrepreneurs, industry experts, scholars and media.

The opening ceremony was chaired by Zai Chengfeng, Founder and CEO of Cocoon Networks, a strategic partner of the Zhangjiang Demonstration Zone in Europe, Russ Shaw, Founder of the London Technology Leadership Group, Jiang Sunan, Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in the UK, Dong Bin, Chairman of the China-EU Entrepreneurship Summit, London Development Agency (LDA). Cao Jie, Director of Asia Pacific Region, and Cao Zhenquan, Executive Deputy Director of Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone Management Committee, delivered speeches at the opening ceremony.

Russ Shaw of the London Technology Leadership Group said that "cooperation between the UK and China needs a bridge within reach", and he believes there will be more and more organisations and individuals willing to engage in all areas of Sino-British cooperation. Cao Jie, Asia Pacific Director of the London Development Agency (LDA), spoke on the China-UK technology trends in 2017, Cao Jie pointed out the originality of London technology advantages and London as a technology-led center, open to talent and investment from around the world. Cao Zhenquan, Executive Deputy Director of the Shanghai Zhangjiang High-Tech Industrial Development Zone Management Committee, said that Shanghai is an open city for integrated innovation, and Zhangjiang, as a shared platform, hopes to bridge a solid bridge for bilateral science and technology cooperation between the two countries. Zai Chengfeng expressed his hope that his company's 7,000 square meters science and technology innovation center in central London could become a transmission link between China and the UK in the transformation of science and technology innovation achievements, providing a better landing environment.

At the main forum, Cao Zhenquan, Executive Deputy Director of the Management Committee of Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone (ZHTID), Jiang Sunan, Counselor of Science and Technology Department of the Chinese Embassy in the UK, Russ Shaw, founder of the London Science and Technology Leadership Group, Cocoon, and Zhangjiang Technology Leadership Group were among the speakers. Mr. Wang Weiguo, Chairman of Networks, unveiled the opening ceremony of Zhangjiang CKH London Science and Technology Innovation Park (STIP). The park aims to build a full-service innovation platform for entrepreneurs, build a cross-border intellectual property platform and a cross-border intellectual property exchange, realize the transformation and connection of intellectual property between China and Europe, as well as a multi-modal intellectual property investment model and technology and financial advisory services. The two sides will cooperate to set up various special funds for technology, focus on investing in the best technological achievements, as well as provide advisory services for mergers and acquisitions in various industries.

Cao Zhenquan, Executive Deputy Director of the Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone Management Committee, and Cao Jie, Director of the London Development Agency (LDA) Asia Pacific, unveiled a plaque for the Zhangjiang Talent Cultivation and Exchange Platform.

Cocoon Networks has also established strategic partnerships and cooperation with Anchuang Space, EFC Financial City, GCL Financial Holdings, C4DR and Sprint China to expand domestic and international network channels, establish international innovation and entrepreneurship platform, financial technology incubation and capital docking, and build a China-EU partnership. The platform for exchange between entrepreneurs and investors in the financial technology industry and the comprehensive business development center of science and technology ecology are the future directions of cooperation, gradually weaving a diversified network of transnational science and technology exchanges and innovation projects to accelerate the landing.

In addition, representatives from various industries brought professional and in-depth keynote discussions to the Sino-British Technology Festival. Xia Shibing, Managing Director of Sunflower Capital Management Limited, and Puneet Raj, who is also Fund Manager of Funding London and Fund Manager of London Co-investment Fund Bhatia and other Chinese and foreign investors analyzed the investment opportunities under Industry 4.0. Mr. Ji Songpeng, Chairman of Shanghai Anhan Medical Technology, Mr. Lou Jingwei, Chairman of Shanghai Baotian Biomedical Technology Co., Ltd. and Mr. Alan Edwards, Chairman of ESP Technology, discussed the innovation and development of Sino-British medical technology.

The three-day Sino-British Technology Festival will showcase projects including artificial intelligence, financial technology, blockchain, green/clean energy, medical technology, big data, IoT, smart hardware and more.
