On the afternoon of June 9, a workshop on Focused Issues in Technology Transfer in the Health Sector, jointly organized by the National Technology Transfer Eastern Center, the Shanghai Bioengineering Society and the Shanghai Institute of Technology, was successfully held. Relevant leaders from the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, universities, Chinese Academy of Sciences and other research institutes, hospitals, platforms, technology intermediaries and enterprises were invited to participate in the meeting.

The meeting discussed the difficulties and pain points in the process of technology transfer in the health sector. Mr. Lu Jijun, Assistant President of the Eastern National Technology Transfer Center (ENTTC), gave a welcome speech to the participants and introduced the resources, policies and successful cases of technology transfer at ENTTC. Shanghai Institute of Technology (SUSTech) highlighted the THz case study, which was a successful reference for universities, research institutes and hospitals in the transformation of technological achievements. Representatives from science and technology intermediaries and enterprises expressed their interest in participating in technology transfer and transformation, and suggested that all parties should work together on policy integration and mutual cooperation.

Mr. Jiang Hao, director of the Information and Policy Research Office of the Science and Technology Development Center of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, answered the questions of technology brokers, profit distribution, and mechanism and system encountered by universities and research institutes in the process of transforming scientific and technological achievements, and pointed out that the transformation of scientific and technological achievements should explore a set of effective paths suitable for domestic technology transfer and transformation according to national conditions.
