White Paper Released: One Belt, One Road for a New Future of Global Science, Technology and Innovation Cooperation

On January 17, 2017, the World Economic Forum released a white paper on "Unlocking the Growth Potential of Countries Along the New Silk Road with Technology". The report points out that if modern technology can be fully utilized to enhance market connectivity and stimulate the potential dynamism of the market, countries along the Belt and Road, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), will benefit significantly, while helping their GDP to achieve 4%-7% growth.

It has been three years since China launched the Belt and Road Initiative, and more than 100 countries and international organizations have responded positively; more than 40 countries and international organizations have signed cooperation agreements with China, realizing investment of more than $50 billion in countries along the route, and a series of major international cooperation projects have come to fruition, creating tremendous wealth for the countries along the route.
